Um sonho do artista para estimular a consciência das artes em sua cidade, o Instituto Juarez Machado foi inaugurado em Joinville em 2014. Um espaço para pensar, aprender, apreciar ou expor arte.
Sem fins lucrativos, foi concebido para trazer mais arte para a vida dos moradores de Joinville e região, bem como, mais vida para a arte do norte catarinense. Com inúmeras atividades e espaço para exposições, cursos, palestras e debates, além de expor obras dos mais de 60 anos de carreira de Juarez Machado, busca desenvolver e disseminar artes, promover ações de democratização e acesso às fontes de cultura.
The Institute
An artist’s dream to stimulate awareness of the arts in his city, the Juarez Machado Institute opened in Joinville in 2014. A space to think, learn, appreciate or exhibit art.
Non-profit, it was conceived to bring more art to the lives of residents of Joinville and region, as well as, more life to the art of the north of Santa Catarina. With numerous activities and space for exhibitions, courses, lectures and debates, in addition to exhibiting works from over 60 years of Juarez Machado’s career, it seeks to develop and disseminate arts, promote democratization actions and access to sources of culture.

CASA PRINCIPAL – Restauro de patrimônio histórico, casa onde viveram os pais de Juarez Machado identificando o artista à cidade onde nasceu. Imóvel construído por volta de 1940 e adquirido pela família do artista no final da década de 50. Abriga o setor administrativo, de pesquisa e educativo.
MAIN HOUSE – Located on a restored historical landmark, the house where lived Juarez Machado’s parents, identifies the artist with the place he grew up and the city where he was born. Property built around 1930 and acquired by the artist’s family in the 50s, the main house holds the administrative, research and educational sectors, including a small boutique with exclusive products created by Juarez.

JARDIM – Repleto de flores, plantas e árvores frutíferas, as esculturas de Juarez Machado fazem parte do ambiente, estimulando o bem-estar e uma harmoniosa convivência. Em 2014, foi premiado na tradicional Festa das Flores de Joinville com o 1º lugar na categoria Jardim Empresarial.
GARDEN – Teeming with flowers, plants and fruit trees, embraces Juarez Machado’s sculptures as part of the environment, creating an atmosphere of well-being and a harmonious coexistence. In 2014, the garden was awarded at the traditional Joinville’s Flowers Festival, winning 1st place on the Business Garden category.

PAVILHÃO DE EXPOSIÇÕES – Dividido em 2 pavimentos, é totalmente climatizado, sonorizado e com iluminação em trilhos. Apto para receber as mais diversas produções e manifestações como exposições de arte, lançamentos literários, apresentações cênicas ou musicais, assim como seminários, encontros, debates, entre outros.
EXHIBITION PAVILION – Divided into two floors, is fully air conditioned, with a built-in sound system and lighting tracks. The space is prepared to hold the most diverse productions and events such as art exhibitions, literary releases, scenic or musical performances, as well as seminars, meetings, debates, among others possibilities.

PAVILHÃO JM – Seu piso inferior acolhe uma biblioteca artística, reserva técnica e outras atividades. Também funciona no local uma pequena boutique com alguns produtos exclusivos criados por Juarez. No segundo pavimento, uma exposição de longa duração do acervo de Juarez Machado. Como medida de acessibilidade, o prédio conta com uma plataforma de acessibilidade e uma passarela aérea que interliga os dois pavilhões.
JM PAVILION – Under construction, the ground floor will host the Art Library, cafeteria and other activities. On the second floor, a permanent exhibition of Juarez Machado acquits. As accessibility measure, the building will have an elevator and an aerial walkway connecting the two pavilions.

BIBLIOTECA ARTÍSTICA – Composta por um acervo reunindo centenas de títulos, contribuindo como fonte para pesquisas, formação e conhecimento.
ARTISTIC LIBRARY – Gathering a collection of hundreds of titles, will work as incentive and a source for research, education and knowledge. Still to be implemented, will be located at the new Exhibition Hall.

VENHA DE BICICLETA, É DE GRAÇA – Paraciclos instalados em frente à sede do Instituto, ocupando a vaga que seriam de dois automóveis. Para incentivar o uso e contribuir com o meio ambiente e mobilidade urbana, quem vier nos visitar de bicicleta não paga o valor da entrada.
COME BY BIKE, IT’S FREE – Bike Parking racks were installed in front of the Institute, using a space that would fit two cars. Created to encourage the use of bikes contributing with the preservation of the environment and urban mobility, visitors coming on bike do not pay admission fee.
